The Artists’ Showplace

The Artists’ Showplace is the ideal escape from the summer heat, offering a wide range of classes for both children and adults and hosting a stunning art gallery featuring local and international artists. According to San Cheang, Director of Art Education, “We differentiate ourselves from other art camps by providing a setting in a fine art gallery.”

Open Studio is available every Saturday from June through August from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Bring your supplies and use their spacious, bright, and well-equipped classrooms for just $10 per day. No reservations are needed. Summer classes cover topics such as “Paint Like The Masters,” “Visiting Van Gogh,” “Quilting,” and more.

Lone Star Park

Gather your friends and head to Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie for a thrilling day of thoroughbred racing through July 30th. (Quarter Horse Season starts September 15.) The Grandstand provides various dining and seating options. To make a reservation, call 972.263.PONY, or simply purchase General Admission tickets for just five dollars.
