There’s something unique about family movie night. Here’s a great idea to bring the cinematic experience to your backyard.

Setting Up the Pool Movie is Simpler Than You Think.
1. The Audio/Visual Setup: To screen a movie in your yard, you will need a projector, a movie screen, and speakers. You can use a large, white sheet for your screen and either rent or buy a projector. Even better, you might want to visit Starpower to get your own home theater system. Typically, they can deliver within 24 hours. Their award-winning installers are not only recognized as the “Best In America,” but they are also very friendly.
2. The Seating Options: Throw in some water chairs, inner tubes, and/or floats into the pool while also providing dry seating options for guests.
TIP: Have piles of towels, pillows, and blankets ready for comfort after swimming. Depending on the temperature, your guests might want to stay in the pool throughout the entire movie or just for the beginning.
3. Choose Your Movie with Your Guests in Mind: When picking a movie, consider what your guests enjoy. If you have a crowd of sci-fi enthusiasts, a classic alien invasion film or a Star Trek movie could be a hit. For a gathering of teenage girls, a lively musical (whether old or new) might be the perfect choice. Also, there’s an undeniable charm in watching a cheesy film about man-eating sharks or piranhas while floating in the water.
4. Set Up a Snack Zone: Create a concession stand in your kitchen or on the patio. Prepare or buy a large bag of popcorn and serve it in individual popcorn boxes (available at Party City and similar stores). Include a variety of big boxes of candy like Milk Duds and Hot Tamales, as well as classic movie snacks such as pizza, hot dogs, and soft pretzels.
5. Invite Other Families to Join the Fun!
