Tavis Piattoly works as the Sports Dietitian and Education Program Manager for the Taylor Hooton Foundation, where he educates athletes, coaches, parents, and healthcare providers about the risks associated with Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances, dietary supplements, their safety, and sports nutrition.
From 2006 to 2013, he served as the Sports Dietitian for the New Orleans Saints and from 2008 to 2013 for the New Orleans Pelicans. He held the position of Sports Dietitian for Tulane Athletics from 2002 to 2014 and was involved with the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine’s NFL Players Association Brain and Body program from 2013 to 2016. He has created tailored nutrition programs for numerous elite athletes across Olympic, NFL, MLB, and NBA levels, as well as various college and high school teams.
Currently, he is a member of the Science Advisory Board for Examine.com and Nordic Naturals, and he served on the Sports Medicine Advisory Board for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association from 2008 to 2015.
