Wendy Sandridge, a travel agent with TravelStore, seems to have inherited her passion for travel from her mother, Barbara, who operated a travel agency for 37 years. Growing up, Wendy experienced the joys of global travel firsthand. Initially working in the hotel industry, she found herself sending many clients to her mother’s agency and realized that she wanted to pursue travel as her own career. Her epiphany came during her first trip planning experience when she sent an email to ten friends, inviting them on a cruise to the western Caribbean from Galveston. To her surprise, the response was overwhelming, resulting in over 300 participants. “That was back in 2004, and people are still discussing how unforgettable that trip was,” she shares. This marked the beginning of a loyal clientele as Wendy began planning trips for the next generation, including weddings, anniversaries, and family reunions, all thanks to word-of-mouth referrals.
