Delicious Apple Crumble
1 can (20 ounces) apple pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 1/2 sticks of butter, melted
vanilla ice cream or whipped cream topping (optional)
Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Spread the apple pie filling evenly in the bottom of a baking dish. If using, combine the cake mix with the chopped pecans, and then evenly distribute this mixture over the apple pie filling.
Pour the melted butter over the cake mix. Avoid stirring. If there are areas with too much butter, lift the dish and gently move it from side to side to spread the butter evenly.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream topping if desired.
