Enhance your summer gathering with this refreshing Orange Mango Granita recipe. This icy delight, featuring a delightful mix of fresh mangos and orange tangerine juice, provides a tropical flavor that keeps your guests feeling cool. Its light, crystalline texture makes it a perfect dessert for summer celebrations.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of Orange Tangerine Flavor Juicy JuiceĀ® 100% Juice
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 medium firm-ripe mangos, peeled and chopped into pieces (approximately 2 cups total) or 1 package (16 oz.) of thawed frozen mango cubes
Directions:
- In a small saucepan, mix the Orange Tangerine Flavor Juicy JuiceĀ® 100% Juice and sugar. Heat until boiling, then remove from the heat and let it cool slightly.
- Combine the mango pieces and the juice mixture in a food processor or blender, blending until smooth. Strain the mixture through a sieve into a shallow baking dish, discarding any solids. Freeze for 3 to 4 hours, stirring and breaking up lumps with a fork every hour. The granita can be prepared up to 2 days ahead and stored in the freezer, covered. Before serving, fluff the surface of the granita with a fork to achieve a crystal-like appearance.
- Serve the granita in bowls. Optional garnishes include sliced mango, pomegranate seeds, and grated lime peel.
