Now is the perfect time to get your closet and your wardrobe in tip-top shape.

Here are some expert guidelines to achieve a stress-free and easy-to-access wardrobe.

  • You should truly LOVE and WEAR every item in your closet.
  • You need to see every item in your closet.
  • Each item should be versatile and worn in various ways.

There are two key ingredients for success: PURGING and ORGANIZING.

Purge items that…

  • Do not fit and have not fit for as long as you can remember. If you’ve maintained a steady weight, embrace it and feel good in your skin. Reward yourself with new pieces if you happen to downsize.
  • Haven’t been worn in at least 2 seasons. If you’re not drawn to those pieces, they’re just taking up valuable space.
  • Are worn out, faded, or discolored. Appreciate the wear you got from them and say goodbye.
  • Still have tags and haven’t been worn within a year of purchase. We all make mistakes. The money is spent, so consider reselling or donating these items without feeling guilty.
  • Are kept because “they might come back in style.” Trends do recycle, but designers adapt them with new elements, making old styles less relevant. Unless it’s a classic item in fantastic condition, let it go.
  • Don’t make you feel good and aren’t flattering. Your clothing should boost your self-esteem.

When uncertain, try the item on. You might rediscover a hidden gem or find it belongs in the donation pile, where it can be appreciated by someone else.

Organize your closet by…

  • Investing in matching hangers. It’s worth it! Thin felt hangers are my favorite. For skirts and pants, I prefer clear plastic with metal clips. An aesthetically pleasing closet is important.
  • Separating your wardrobe by season. Current season items should be front and center, while out-of-season clothing should be hung together towards the back of your closet.
  • Keeping all clothing categories grouped. Organize by sleeve length and color.
  • Maintaining visibility for current season items. Store out-of-season shoes and bags in boxes, keeping in-season items easily accessible.
  • Hanging up as much as possible. Accessible clothes are more likely to be worn – no one likes rummaging through cluttered drawers.
  • Storing sentimental items in a safe place, but not within your everyday working wardrobe.

Feel amazing every day and make dressing enjoyable. I can assist in deciding what stays or goes, shop for essential items, and create outfits that blend the old with the new. I’m passionate about ensuring you look and feel incredible.
