Bananas Foster French Toast Recipe - Good Life Family Magazine

Total time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4

French Toast:
4 eggs
2 cups half-and-half
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4 stick butter
1 loaf Nature’s Own Butterbread*

Bananas Foster Sauce:
1/2 stick butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 bananas, sliced lengthwise and quartered

To prepare the French toast: In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, half-and-half, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla. Whisk until well mixed.

Heat a nonstick griddle or griddle pan over medium heat and melt the butter.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated (dip twice). Place the slices on the griddle and cook until both sides are lightly browned.

To make the bananas foster sauce: Melt the butter and brown sugar together, then add cinnamon. Once it has melted into a caramel, stir in the sliced bananas.

Continue to spoon the sauce over the bananas in the pan.

Serve the French toast and top each stack with bananas and sauce.

NOTE:
*This Bananas Foster French Toast recipe features Butterbread from Nature’s Own, which has partnered with Make-A-Wish on a $500,000 donation to support wish kids through 2026.

Since 1980, the nonprofit has granted over 375,000 wishes in the U.S. to children facing serious illnesses, helping them gain the strength and hope needed to combat their challenges. These granted wishes can be transformative, providing a sense of normalcy for families and affecting entire communities.

In celebration of the partnership, the Slice of Hope Campaign was launched, featuring in-store displays and a digital “Well Wish Wall” where customers can share their well wishes for children to read.

“Together, we hope to continue to inspire and spread goodness, one wish at a time.”
Krystle Farlow, senior director of brand management, Nature’s Own
